The club have 2 'Memorial' rides that are held each year, in memory of 2 club members who really helped the bike club -

The Lew Weaver Ride

Lew Weaver was one of the 'Founding Fathers' of Stirling Bike Club - one of the first SBC members as well as the road captain.

In those early days of only one group on a Saturday morning it was Lew who guided us through streets of central Scotland and Perthshire. He was an excellent road captain and was always happy to provide very useful advice, to help keep the group together and safe.

He was also the organiser of our foreign cycle camps, firstly to Majorca and then to his beloved Hotel Belvedere in Riccione Italy.

The Dave Jorgensen Rides

Dave was everything you'd ask for in a club mate - great company on group rides; a wealth of information on cycling; generous with his time - he got involved with all aspects of the club from organising rides and race events to coaching the junior section.

He is sadly missed by those who knew him.

The Club usually funds the annual Dave Jorgensen Memorial Ride and BBQ, the idea being that riders donate what they’d normally spend in the café at the end of a ride to Strathcarron Hospice, who cared for Dave.
