Join Warriors RT

Following the proposal to establish a formal racing team, Stirling Bike Club is officially opening applications for Warriors RT. We are looking for dedicated riders to help us move from a club that has racers to a club that develops racers.

This is not a selection process as anyone who meets the criteria noted above is welcomed to join, but this is a race team, and we want competitive riders to join. Those who like to compete but don’t feel the need to join a race specific team can still race under the main club affiliation.

1. Who We Are Looking For

Warriors RT is designed to be an inclusive platform for any SBC member actively competing, with a specific focus on building a performance pathway. You don’t have to be the next Jenny Holl or Charlie Aldridge, it’s about getting involved not where you finish.

Youth & Junior Riders (U8 to Junior): We want riders transitioning from coaching sessions to competitive events who are looking for mentored support and a team identity. We want to build a fun inclusive team that encourages more youth from riding their bikes into racing their bikes.

Senior Riders: We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced racers who are committed to their own performance and willing to mentor the next generation.

2. Member Requirements & Eligibility

To maintain a high standard and visibility at British and Scottish Cycling events, all team members must meet the following criteria:

Club Membership: Must be a current member of Stirling Bike Club.

Racing License: Hold a valid racing license.

Commitment: Seniors must commit to representing the team in a minimum of 8 competitive events per season.

Team Identity: Agree to race under the name "Warriors RT" and wear the dedicated team kit at all events. This will be the ‘new’ Warriors Bioracer kit. The full design and range can be seen on the Bioracer web shop which we will open soon. The range is extensive, youth and adult (male and female), prices reasonable and quality excellent.

3. Why Join Warriors RT?

The team provides several benefits designed to enhance your racing experience:

The Team: Be part of a race focused group who come together at events and provide support and encouragement to all.

Pathway & Progression: Access to race-specific coaching sessions that do not impact the wider club offering.

Mentorship: A natural environment where Seniors share experience and knowledge with Youth riders, and maybe vice versa.

Event Hub: Use of a branded team gazebo at events to provide a central "hub" for riders and support crews.

Visibility: Increased opportunities for individual and team recognition through dedicated social media channels and potential local sponsorship.

4. Safety and Management

The team operates under the SBC umbrella and strictly follows Scottish Cycling’s Minimum Operating Standards. We have a dedicated Race Team Welfare Officer (WPO), and all team volunteers are PVG checked to ensure a safe environment for our younger athletes.
