On the 5th February, Foxlake at Dunbar hosted the penultimate round of the series. In addition to the normal A and B races this also had seperate youth races organised. These were over a particularly technical and muddy course, pushing riders and machinery to the limit, as some of our riders discovered (with broken bikes not broken riders!) In the adult races the Stirling Bike Club riders taking part were:
Derek Ditty - DNF
Richard McLauchlan - DNF
Helen Gorman - 12th Woman, 69th Overall
Colin Chisholm - 55th
Both Derek and Richard had mechanical issues which prevented them from being able to finish. After suffering a double puncture, Colin found himself running halfway round the circuit to get back to the pits - he changed both wheels and yet still managed 55th place in the B race! Helen was the only Stirling rider to finish without incident, though by the end even her bike was starting to make some strange noises.
Competing in the youth racing from Stirling was:
Logan McLean - 3rd
An excellent start to the season for Logan, picking up a podium finish in a closely fought race with just 30 seconds seperating the top 3.
