Some "good" news for anyone taking part in TT events held under BC/SC regulations...

The BC Technical Commission has considered the use of disc brakes in time-trials (TTs) and until further notice there is no objection to the use of disc brakes in TTs run under BC regulations.

This is covered by Technical Regulation 3.2.5, in that it does not extend to time trials. This provision extends to bicycles, tandems and tricycles in time trial competition.

Please be aware that in time trial events run under UCI regulations, for example the National Championships, the prohibition still applies.

We are aware that this information is mostly relevant to events within Scotland, as this is where the vast majority of such competitions take place, but the clarification applies nationwide.
