Just want to give a quick summary of what's happening tomorrow seeing as rides are being organised differently at the mo and not visible here on the forum

First group rides of the season going out tomorrow:

Development is heading out over the minibraes and Deanston road
Intermediate is going north over Comriemoor
Middle group is heading over Dukes Pass from the north
and Tempo is going north over Comriemoor and taking in Sherrifmuir on the return

Have fun everyone, it's GOOD to be back B)

Currently, due to track & trace requirements, we are operating a booking system for rides. DO NOT join a ride if you are not booked on. See Jim's post below for booking details

Folks - we're delighted to let you know that SBC Group Road Rides will be resuming on Saturday 22/5 following the recent decision by the Scottish Government to relax most of Scotland into Level 2. Scottish Cycling has advised that there will be no physical distancing requirement DURING a group ride although the 2m rules will apply at the start and finish of each ride and any interim stops.

SBC has developed a COVID-19 GROUP ROAD RIDING PROTOCOL. It's an important document for your safety and I would ask you all to make yourselves fully aware of the contents as soon as you can. This should be available on the SBC Website (click on the 'Club Rides & Events' menu) later on today Wed 19/5. It's important that we observe this at all times.

For the time being, we will be restricting group sizes to 10 to allow everyone to find their feet and refresh our group riding skills - it's hard to believe that it's been 14 months. The assembly of each group is going to be a wee bit different for the foreseeable future. Due to the Government's requirement for traceability, all rides will be posted up by Road Ride Leaders on SBC's SPOND platform and this coming Saturday's rides will be posted up today or tomorrow. Access to each group will be on a first come, first served basis but if the ride is full place yourself on the waiting list and that will let us see demand and we'll try to put on another ride subject to RRL availability. Alternatively, if you've booked and then can't attend, please cancel your booking by changing the 'accept' to 'decline' and that will allow someone else to take your place.

In the short term there will not be as many RRLs available as quite a few, completely understandably, are awaiting until they've had both vaccinations. So, just to let you know, rides may be limited.

You will also note that rides will start at differing locations and that is to avoid mass gathering at the Peak as has been the case in the past.

We'll review all of this as the weeks go by and make any necessary adjustment but thanks, in the meantime, for your forbearance; It's been a bit of a hectic time and learning curve for us. We're always happy to listen to views so, as the weeks go by, if you've any constructive comments please let your RRL know and they'll feed back to the Road Reps group and we'll try our best to accommodate your views.

Finally, I think that we'll all be in a happier place just getting back to group riding - enjoy your summer.
