Hi all,

In terms of hotels, despite the off-putting name, I've used the Hotel Romantic the last two years and it seems to come in cheaper than the Puerto Azul by a fair bit. The rooms and food are fine, and the location is excellent - right on the sea front, and just a few min walk from Tolo's and some other bars/restaurants on the sea front. It's also a no-kids hotel, if that swings things one way or another for anyone!

I fancy going back to Port de Pollensa again next year but not sure what timings I'd prefer yet.

Cheers

Dave

I'm flexible with dates so 3rd May is fine for me.

Will have to work out finances before committing though, big year next year.

Hi Folks,
I been asked by a number of the members to post dates for next year in Majorca 2020.
There was a number of us back to Puerto Pollensa again this year over the course of April / May from the club.
The group I went out with was a week later than usual 5th of May, as in the previous years we had experienced a mixed bag of weather during April. I have to say this year the decision to go later paid off in terms of the weather with no rain and great temperatures.
It would be great if we can get the numbers up next year in Majorca so that there can be a couple of groups catering for all abilities should anyone want to ride as part of group ride ? ( there is no pressure to ride with group if you don't want to but some like the company and security as well the local knowledge of routes).
My own preference would again be travel out weekend of 3rd of May (Sunday 7 days) in order to try and secure the better weather again plus avoid some of the big events such as 312 or Triathlon. ( I know some of you might want to take part in the 312 etc. but it makes it one of the busiest times for cyclists on the island and higher hotel prices).
There are number of hotels and apartments other than the Azul Suites in Puerto Pollensa so there is no necessity for anyone having to stay there, however it has to be said we have had no complaints about the facilities and accommodation over the last five years of staying there.
Can I ask for show of your interest by posting your name below for that week in May 2020 and all being well I will post up some accommodation links so everyone is free to make the mind up re accommodation and bike hire if required. (this may also help identify others wishing to room share or apartment which helps keep the individual cost down) .
If there is an over whelming desire to go in April please feel free state and alternative date but based on past experience May seem to be slightly more predictable with better weather than April.

Thanks for posting this up Graeme as Sandra and I are interested but our commitment depends on two things, firstly whether Sandra can get the time off work and, secondly, the dates of Alex's exams. Won't be until nearer Christmas that we will know for sure! Also, going later is no guarantee of better weather. We have just come back today and had temperatures of no higher than 19 degrees, very windy in the afternoons and 1 ½ days of rain out of the five we were there! I think it's pot luck with the weather these days I'm afraid.
