Meant to say, Cycle earlier last Month we stayed at Torridon YH.
There is still a lot of work to do at the back end after Applecross climb. A series of small descents followed by sharp short climbs.
Good Fun. A 4h drive from Stirling.

Having visited Applecross many times and ridden the pass six times now in all weathers (high winds are the scariest!) I can thoroughly recommend it as an outing. A great place to stay is Hartfield House hostel in Applecross itself and about a twenty minute walk (or 5 minute ride) from The Applecross Inn!! Stayed there several times and facilities are first class including the kitchen if people want to cook. Besides the pub, there is another good restaurant in the walled garden of Applecross House.
4th May may not be possible for me as I might be going to Mallorca.
I'm interested. Know of a large bunkhouse 13 miles north of Applecross, which I can look into if you wish. I've stayed there. Its not posh, but cosy kitchen and lots of bedrooms with bunks. Sleeps around 20.

Good one Chi
Whilst we might want to do the climb at different paces, if people want to carry on and do the loop then we would do that as a group (or a number of groups if appropriate).
At this stage I would just encourage people who may be interested to say so, and we can then work out paces etc. later.
As winter sets it, what else to think about other than cycling trips for the summer next year when the weather is (slightly) nicer.
So, Helen and I have been talking about arranging a trip to ride the Bealach na Ba. We had meant to fit it in this year, but since we didn't arrange anything it never happened. So we are looking to start thinking about it now so we can get it in the diary.
Would anyone else be interested in coming along? It would probably involve staying nearby the night before, but some people may prefer the stay there two nights. We would be looking to do the BnB / Applecross / Shieldaig loop, but variations to that are possible.
We can talk logistics once we have an idea of who may be interested.
At the moment just looking for indication of possible interest. Happy to chat to people about it during AGM on Tuesday.
I have put this in road biking, but I am pretty sure there are also off-road options too.
Cheers, Chris and Helen
