Agree with Gary, the Orbea is a very nice bike and a good price. The Frogs are nice as well but think only the mtb range have discs and aren't rigid.
Whyte is good but pricey.

I'd look at the orbea bikes. The shop next to corrieri's stock orbea.
The other cracker is the Whyte 403 and the high spec'd 405
The frog bike Richards daughter rides is a cracker also

Hi,

Emie's Dad here, just wondering on behalf of Emie's friends parents what the go to 26" wheeled general use bike is for an 8/9 year old. Fully rigid preferred and some form of disc brakes would be nice. £3/400 new or less second hand.

He's outgrowing an Islabike so would prefer something similar, i.e. just a general cutting about bike with maybe some light off-road use, no drop bars.
