No problem Beth / Helen. I enjoy taking riders out and helping them work on technical skills. I'd be happy to do more of this if there's a demand for it. Also happy to show others the delights of Aberfoyle / Callander - there's plenty on offer.

Having just re-read this thread and got all the words in the right order and understandable, I'm gutted I'm missing this as it sounds like a great idea. Have a great ride.

OK - 10am at the car park by the Wool Centre then. We can ride for 2-3 hours covering a variety of technical challenges and session some trails to build skills

Happy for morning or afternoon! Excited about the coaching. My technique and confidence over technical stuff is definitely improving but there's lots of room for improvement!

Anyone else interested? Just post up!

Hi Steve, from a personal point of view, I'd prefer the morning as I'm competing in the Corrieri's 10m TT at 9.22am on Sunday. That said, I'm happy to do what goes down best with you and other participants

I can make morning if you'd rather.

The trails I have in mind are progressive so should help build confidence, but Aberfoyle is generally quite challenging so this isn't for beginners.

From a coaching point of view, the focus will be on improving technique at the limit of your confidence. The thing I'm really keen on is working within your capabilities so that you ride things well before progressing to the next level.

Great! Steve, just let us know where to assemble and what time. This will replace the regular second-Saturday-of-the-month morning ride.

Usual caveats apply - anyone coming along should ensure they have food, suitable clothing, spare tubes etc. I'm assuming this is not a ride for complete beginners!

Beth here
"Yes please", this sounds very interesting and a bit of coaching thrown in makes it even better.

Hi Steve, that sounds great - we had a club ride scheduled for the morning but maybe this could take the place of it. I'd love to see some of the (easier!) Aberfoyle trails. Will see what Beth thinks and let you know!

I'm planning a trip round some of the easier trails in Aberfoyle on Saturday (probably in the afternoon). This is to recce the route for the ScottishCycling R.A.C.E session I'm leading there the following weekend, so the trails selected are all suitable for an XC rider (not enduro like some of the steeper stuff at Aberfoyle). I'd be very happy for some company if anyone wishes to join me. I could offer some coaching input if you were willing to be a guinea pig too!
